Module: Hard Hoof: Tech (hardhoof_tech)
The Assembler is the crafting sibling of the Item Controller. It reaches Item Tanks on its item-pipe network, runs one crafting-table recipe at a time from that storage back into storage, and never plans multi-step chains by itself.
Workshop recipe
New in the development build. The Assembler takes a Hearth Casing, 2 Motors, 2 Copper Contacts and 1 crafting table. It has no Logic Board, because you do not program it: you drive it from a Terminal. See Tech tiers for casings and parts. The 0.6.0 download uses an older pattern; JEI shows your build's recipe.

Power and rate

| Idle draw | 0.5 W |
| Cost per craft | 4 J |
| Crafts per second | up to 4 |
| Internal buffer | 16 J |

Without live supply and usable reserve it reports no power and will not craft. It reports no storage until item pipes flange onto at least one Item Tank.
How it crafts
- Connect item pipes from the Assembler to one or more powered Item Tanks.
- Stock the tanks with ingredients (and leave room for results).
- Drive crafts from a Terminal on the data bus, or use the Storage app /
storage crafthelper (see below).

The Assembler only executes one crafting-table recipe per craft call. Multi-step chains (log → planks → sticks → pickaxe) are planned in Volt: /rom/lib/craft.volt, used by the Storage app and the storage craft command.
Storage app (honest scope)
A Storage desktop app ships on the Terminal ROM (/rom/apps/storage.volt), with a matching storage shell command. Against a reachable Item Controller it can browse tank contents, pull stacks to a chosen output chest, and run Assembler crafts with part planning. Details of chest setup and the full Terminal UI belong with the Terminal cluster articles — this page only notes that the app does exist and talks to these machines over the data bus.
First example
- Power the Assembler's rear; pipe it to a live Item Tank group holding oak logs.
- On a Terminal:
dev.find("assembler"), thenrecipes/craftfor planks — or open Storage → Craft. - Confirm planks appear in the tanks and the Assembler shows crafting status while work runs.
Common failures
- No storage: no Item Tank on the pipe grid, or tanks offline (unpowered).
-
Missing ingredients / full storage:
craftrefuses until stock and free space exist. - No power: rear cable dead or buffer empty under load.
- Wrong expectation: it will not invent workshop or Metal Former recipes — crafting table only at T1.
